LSJI COUNCIL PRESIDENT | Cohort I, Orcas Island   

Gretchen is a process consultant, executive coach and principal with Process Experts, a strategic consulting firm that integrates people, process and technology. Through leadership coaching and community development, she works with corporations, non-profits and community organizations to build resiliency, leadership, and create higher levels of engagement. Her clients include San Juan County government, non-profit organizations and Salish Sea businesses.

As Chair of LSJI in 2005, she led the establishment of LSJI as an independent 501(c)(3) and she’s held the role of President seven times over the past nineteen years.  She has been a key contributor to developing the foundational LSJI curriculum and led faculty for all opening Cohort “Use of Self” retreats, weaving the MBTI, Leadership Storytelling and Facilitation Skills into the culture. 

Gretchen is the founder of IsleWork LLC, a creative Collaboratory (Thrive San Juan Islands and Orcas Green Drinks), building connections and capacity through the social arts, participatory leadership and community engagement.  She has served on numerous boards, including San Juan County Ag Guild, OrcaSong Institute and NewStories. She is married to Paul King (Cohort IV, Orcas Island) and is the mother of three adult children and five grand-girls.
